The final presentation of the “Collaborative Engineering Project”, jointly participated in by students from Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (BiUH) and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Germany (HSBI), was successfully held on Monday at the Lian International Education Innovation Pilot Zone.

The event fostered cross-cultural collaboration and innovative academic practices, providing students with an international platform for growth.

This event was part of the “HSBI meets BiUH – Hainan Spring School” program led by Professor Maik Lauterbach. From February 17 to 26, 20 HSBI students specializing in “practice-integrated model” embarked on a 10-day exchange program, visiting Shenzhen and Lingshui, among other locations.

From February 19 to 24, HSBI students collaborated with BiUH faculty and students on engineering and innovative design. Through group work, they engaged in the entire development process of complex mechanical systems, from theoretical modeling and material selection to device construction.

The Monday’s final presentation transformed into a showcase of technology and creativity. Each group demonstrated their devices through dynamic presentations and bilingual explanations, highlighting the intricate design and precise operation of every component. The students’ exceptional hands-on skills and innovative thinking left the audience in awe.

Dr. Jari Grosse-Ruyken, President of BiUH, attentively observed the presentations and spoke highly of the students’ outstanding performances. In his speech, he encouraged the students to maintain their passion for knowledge and spirit of exploration, striving for new breakthroughs in their future studies and lives.

Following discussions and evaluations, the participating teams were recognized and awarded. Applause and cheers filled the venue, expressing congratulations to the winners and deep expectations for all students’ futures.

Prior to their visit to Hainan, on February 17, the HSBI students, accompanied by President Jari Grosse-Ruyken and Ms. Zhang Qiao, BiUH’s Head of Uni-Enterprise Cooperation, visited Huawei Digital Technologies (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., engaging in friendly exchanges with relevant representatives. Next, the HSBI students will continue their visit to Sanya and Yangpu Economic Development Zone in Danzhou.

The final presentation not only strengthened the friendship between students from both universities but also laid a solid foundation for future international cooperation and academic exchanges.
