On May 17, the 2026 International Talent Tour in Danzhou-Yangpu was successfully held at Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (BiUH). Under the theme “Connecting Minds · Building Links · Empowering Growth”, the event brought together over 100 representatives from government, universities, enterprises, and overseas talents, facilitating in-depth exchanges and cooperation on international talent recruitment and development. As the first university independently established by a foreign higher education institution in the Hainan Free Trade Port, BiUH took this opportunity to extend a sincere invitation to talents from around the world.
“Currently, 25% of our colleagues are international, but we aim to raise this proportion to 50%,” said Prof. Dr. Ingeborg Schramm-Wölk, President of BiUH, in her welcome speech. She noted that BiUH is in a phase of rapid growth and is in urgent need of faculty, researchers, and staff who understand the world, know the industry, and are willing to create something new together. She extended a warm invitation to every talent present: “We truly hope you will be pleased with what you see today, and that one day in the future, you will choose to join the BiUH family.”
Vice President Mr. ZENG Weilu then gave a detailed introduction to BiUH’s academic features and talent recruitment initiatives. He stated that the university is accelerating the development of its international faculty team, and warmly welcomes talents with industry experience and cross-cultural competence from across the globe.
During the event, BiUH signed talent cooperation agreements with the Danzhou International Talent Workstation and the Danzhou Overseas Friendship Association. It also signed university-enterprise cooperation agreements with key companies including SDIC Yangpu Port Co., Ltd., SF Holding Co., Ltd., and Donghua Software Co., Ltd., followed by a joint plaque unveiling ceremony. This has injected new momentum into our university’s university-enterprise collaboration and work-integrated education.
Mr. GUAN Yejun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Danzhou Municipal Committee and Head of the Organization Department of Danzhou Municipal Committee, noted in his speech that Danzhou is anchoring its strategic positioning as the “demonstration zone” for the Hainan Free Trade Port and the “third pole” of high-quality development, building a competitive modern industrial system. He emphasized that BiUH is a model of Sino-German educational cooperation and plays a vital role in attracting international faculty and cultivating industry-specific talents. Mr. GUAN extended a sincere invitation to global talents: “Choose Danzhou-Yangpu, take root in Danzhou-Yangpu, pursue your dreams in Danzhou-Yangpu.” He also assured that Danzhou will continue to optimize its talent policies, providing a platform for career success, space for development, and warmth for daily life.
Ms. LI Rui, Deputy General Manager of the Energy Development Department of Yangpu International Investment Consulting Co., Ltd., gave a presentation on the development opportunities and business environment in the Yangpu Free Trade Port. From policy advantages, industrial foundation, to port and shipping logistics, he showcased the strong development momentum of Yangpu as the “demonstration zone” of the Hainan Free Trade Port, offering a clear picture for international talents to innovate and start businesses.
The guests agreed that the open policies of the Hainan Free Trade Port and the industrial cluster advantages of the Danzhou-Yangpu area offer unique development opportunities for international talents. As a model of Sino-German educational cooperation, BiUH is committed to becoming a key node connecting global intelligence and local industries.
In the afternoon, BiUH held a talent supply-demand matching session, designed in an open and interactive format, offering ample face-to-face communication opportunities for corporate representatives and domestic and international talents. Participants included international talents from the Hainan Western Returned Scholars Association, high-level returnees from Germany, BiUH’s international experts and faculty representatives, among others. Several talents reached preliminary cooperation intentions on site.
Standing in the Free Trade Port, we sincerely invite talents from across the world. The successful hosting of the 2026 International Talent Tour in Danzhou-Yangpu at BiUH not only demonstrates the university’s open and talent-seeking attitude, but also highlights its mission as a model of Sino-German educational cooperation, actively integrating into the larger talent development efforts of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
With an open embrace, we nurture the talents of the future. Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences looks forward to joining hands with you on a journey of education and the Free Trade Port era.
