Recently, the 2026 (19th) Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition (4C) Hainan Provincial Competition (Undergraduate Category) came to a successful conclusion. Students from BiUH achieved outstanding results in the competition:

Our university sent a total of 4 student teams to compete, and ultimately 2 teams won provincial second prizes, with 1 team advancing to the national finals by virtue of the exceptional quality of their work!

4C is one of the most influential student competitions in the field of computer science in China. Now in its 19th edition, 4C is included in the National University Discipline Competition Ranking. 4C aims to stimulate students’ interest and potential in learning computer knowledge and skills, and to cultivate innovation ability, teamwork spirit, and comprehensive problem-solving skills.

This year’s Hainan Provincial Competition (Undergraduate Category) featured 13 universities and 468 teams, with over 2,000 participating students. The number of participating institutions, teams, and students all reached record highs, demonstrating the energetic spirit and innovative enthusiasm of university students in Hainan.

The administrative work for this competition was managed by the Academic Affairs Office, with Instructor Prof. Liu Dejang and Ms. Ruan Yujie leading the teams to Haikou. From pre-competition mobilization, topic selection guidance, to project polishing and mock defense, the faculty put in tremendous effort. The participating students overcame numerous difficulties, using their spare time to repeatedly debug their works and optimize their presentations. Ultimately, they competed calmly on stage, demonstrating the solid professional foundation and excellent spirit of our students.

This achievement is not only a recognition of the hard work of the participating faculty and students but also demonstrates the initial effectiveness of BiUH’s “Work-Integrated ” education model. Promoting learning and teaching through competition – allowing students to develop skills and increase their capabilities through real projects and contests – has always been an important concept in our university’s talent cultivation.

According to the competition schedule, the national finals will be held this summer. The team that has successfully advanced to the national finals — Huang Yixuan, Shao Jingzhou, and Shi Yang— will represent BiUH, competing alongside outstanding students from universities across the country. Currently, under the guidance of Ms. Ruan Yujie, the team is further refining their work and polishing details based on the feedback and suggestions from the provincial competition judges, fully preparing for the national finals.

Let us look forward to them achieving even greater success on higher stages and bringing honor to our university!
