Q1: Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (abbr. BiUH) is the first higher education institution in China, independently run by a foreign university. How do BiUH’s courses articulate with those of its founder, Hochschule Bielefeld – University of Applied Sciences and Arts from Germany (abbr. HSBI)?
A: Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (abbr. BiUH) is the first higher education institution in China independently established by an overseas university, Hochschule Bielefeld – University of Applied Sciences and Arts from Germany (abbr. HSBI). BiUH applies English teaching and has perfectly achieved “localization and internationalization” of education. At the same time, BiUH has introduced the “work-integrated” teaching model from HSBI and follows the talent training plan of HSBI in Germany. There is no need for BiUH to integrate with HSBI, like the traditional Sino-foreign cooperative universities.
Q2: What admissions policies is BiUH currently executing to recruit students?
A: Currently, BiUH recruits students uniformly through the college entrance examination. At the same time, our university is also actively applying for independent enrollments with the Ministry of Education. In the future, we will also screen students through interviews and other means, based not only on scores, but also on multi-dimensional assessments of students’ foreign language proficiency, overall ability and quality.
