To deepen our students’ further understanding of the cooperation model of Sino-German Universities and expand their cognitive learning of machine vision, BiUH invited Professor Reiner Dudziak, former principal of Bochum University of Applied Sciences, lifelong professor, and expert in big data process control and production automation, to give an academic lecture on October 24. The lecture’s theme was “The Application of Machine Vision in Quality Control and Production Automation”.
Prof. Dudziak introduced the biological foundations and bionic applications of machine vision to the students, and then conducted an in-depth analysis of product quality control and production automation. For the quality control of the product, since its working principle is to convert image information captured by the camera into digital information and process it through software, machine vision provides far greater accuracy than manual inspection.
Additionally, Prof. Dudziak also introduced the disciplinary research and operation model of Bochum University of Applied Sciences to the students, combining his own exchange experience in China, his collaboration with Tongji University, and the academic performance of Chinese exchange students. He shared the observed differences between Chinese and German students in classroom performance and academic exchanges. He pointed out that German students should improve their Chinese language skills, as well as understand and adapt to Chinese education methodologies and research approaches under the Sino-German cooperation model. Conversely, Chinese students should reconsider their views on applied universities and focus on the development of practical ability.
As the first undergraduate university in China to adopt the German ” work-integrated ” talent training model, our university is guided by applied innovation, and oriented to the employment of college students while serving the local regional economic, cultural and social development. We cultivate students to become well-rounded professionals, with a solid scientific theoretical foundation, systematic professional knowledge, international perspectives, cross-cultural communication skills, and an innovative spirit. In the future, BiUH will continue to strengthen its partnerships with international universities and prominent enterprises to build broader platforms for academic exchange and internship for our students.
