The Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences project (Phase 1) in the Yangpu Economic Development Zone is advancing at a rapid pace. The main structures of the student center, two teaching buildings, and a training facility have been completed, with scaffolding fully dismantled and interior decoration now in progress.
Launched in 2023, BiUH marks the first independent overseas university establishment in China and the first public German university to operate a campus independently in the country. The campus project covers 269.74 acres, with a total building area of approximately 107,000 square meters and an estimated investment of 1.049 billion yuan. Once completed, it will accommodate 2,500 students.
To date, Phase 1 has generated a construction output value of 210 million yuan, surpassing the 2024 construction targets. With a detailed construction plan in place for 2025, all necessary materials were delivered before the Spring Festival, ensuring that work can continue seamlessly after the holiday.
