To effectively prepare for Typhoon Kajiki and ensure the safety of all students and staff, Vice President and Party Secretary of Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences Mr. Zeng Weilu on Sunday led the heads of functional departments to conduct on-site inspections at key locations, including the Welcome Center, Teaching Buildings A and B, and the Student Center cafeteria, while also identifying potential safety hazards.
Typhoon Kajiki has just been upgraded to a Level I Typhoon Warning. It is expected to make landfall or pass along the southern coastline of Hainan Island (from Lingshui to Ledong) between the afternoon and evening of August 24, with wind speeds reaching 40-45 meters per second (14-level typhoon), before continuing toward the northern coast of Vietnam.
Based on the typhoon’s projected path, Hainan Island is bracing for severe wind and rain. BiUH has activated its emergency response plan to ensure the safety of campus facilities and the well-being of BiUH community.
All students and staff are strongly advised to stay indoors during the storm and adhere to all safety guidelines issued by both local authorities and the university.
